Outfit Misfit

I mentioned in my last blog post that I would be away for a while.. but I'm really sorry for being away for so long! Blogging is a really nice creative outlet for me which isn't music and I think it's important to have variety. Having said that, it's been difficult to get back into it (actually to get back into normal life in general after my audition, more on that in a future post). So I'm kicking it off with an Outfit Misfit post! Shot by the sea (at Coogee) because I wanted to feature my pineapple shirt. Can't see the link between the sea and pineapples? Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

If you've been a reader of my blog for a while you might have noticed my slight obsession with Moda Operandi.. Well this is another M'O purchase: a Moschino Cheap and Chic shirt. There were matching pants which I really wanted to get but was convinced out of (for the record I reckon I could make it work and not look absolutely crazy). I bought it because I adore patterns and this is a great one. When it came I was pleasantly surprised by the cut and how light and breezy it is. It has now become one of my summer staples.

I often wear it with jeans and lately I've taken to pairing with orange sandals because I feel orange sets off the colours in the shirt really nicely. (And because I'm a sucker for matchy matchy I put an orange ribbon in my hair too).

This one is me pretending to be in the shower washing my hair because of "BATHS".
I think my orange ribbon is going quite well with my pink hair fade.
Close up of the pattern. (Special note: earrings are from my beautiful friend Jenn in America).

Because I've been away too much I'm giving you an extra outfit special! The same top now with a patterned skirt. Mixing and matching patterns is one of my favourite things to do and once you start trying things you realise that lots of things go with lots of other things and you can really open up your wardrobe possibilities. Don't be afraid of the clash! It probably doesn't even clash in real life. Most people wouldn't think that my favourite geometric Gorman skirt could work with the Pineapple top but I think it does (feel free to comment if you don't!)

I'm being a pineapple. Clearly.
